Job Title: Instrument Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to lead and supervise a team of engineers and designers, ensuring the on-time, high-quality delivery of all electrical and instrumentation (E&I) services within budget. This role combines technical expertise with project management skills, allowing for autonomy in managing complex engineering tasks, overseeing standards compliance, and utilizing project controls for cost, schedule, and quality management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Oversight and Delivery:
- Manage and ensure timely delivery of all E&I project deliverables within performance budgets and quality standards.
- Review and approve all E&I deliverables, including preliminary designs, cost estimates, and final specifications.
Technical Leadership:
- Perform advanced E&I engineering tasks, such as developing specifications, design criteria, and scope of work.
- Conduct technical calculations, including lighting levels, voltage drops, and conduit fills, ensuring adherence to standards such as NEC.
Team Management:
- Plan and organize project tasks, delegate work based on team expertise, and provide continuous support.
- Facilitate collaboration across disciplines to maintain quality and efficiency.
Project Controls and Reporting:
- Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality standards using project tools.
- Prepare change notices for scope adjustments and maintain regular project status reports.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Develop bid packages, and construction specifications, and ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review calculations and specifications to confirm accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration is highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of industrial E&I engineering experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in NEC, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and E&I tools such as PLC, HMI, and DCS.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead diverse teams, prepare professional service estimates, and perform advanced technical calculations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods as necessary.
